Is it worth me getting a Motorcycle?

I just turned 15 and live in thailand. My friend pointed out to me that the driving age for a motorcycle is only 15 in thailand, as long as I have been a resident for longer than 3 months or something. So now I am either thinking of getting a little kawasaki KSR in thailand or maybe something faster, maybe a 1000c. But is it worth it, is the danger high? Is it easy to avoid police etc. What do you think on motorbikes in thailand in general. By the way I live in bangkok and would be using the bike to get to school etc.
